Introducing your pet to Licki Mats:

1. Any interactive toy activity is best given to pets when they are not hungry or anxiously awaiting a meal. Schedule it at a time when their hunger is satiated and they can approach the task with curiosity and a clear mind.
2. Watch your dog to see how he or she engages with treat-dispensing toys. If you find that they are getting frustrated then, don't force your dog to participate in the activity. He or she may prefer some other form of mental stimulation. This is perfectly fine.
3. Take it away and re-introduce it at a later stage for short intervals to see if you can ease your pet into it gently. If not, a toy that poses an easier challenge is recommended. This is supposed to be enjoyable for your dog so it should be tailored accordingly.
