1. Why are pet parents not allowed in the spa room? Will my pet trust themselves with the groomer?

Trust & transparency is at the core of everything we do. We do everything we can, to ensure that your pet and you trust us with our services. If the pet parent is around the pet, they will naturally be inclined to reach out to the parent and might not cooperate during the grooming process. 

2. Why does my pet need to be vaccinated? 

At HUFT, your pet and your safety is extremely important to us. In the interest of your pet’s safety & immunity and also in the interest of the groomers’ safety, the vaccination needs to be up to date.

3. Why do you use a hoodie during the drying process in the spa?

The reason a hoodie is used during the drying process is to ensure that the sound of the blow dryer does not disturb your pet and stress them. It helps cover the ears of your pet which blocks the noise and the puff of air—both of which can be uncomfortable to your pet. 

4. Why does the groomer hold the chin of the pet during a face trim?

While the groomer is doing the face trim, sharp instruments like scissors are used. With the groomer holding the chin, it gives them the grip & control, and prevents your pet from getting hurt.

5. Are there any precautions that I can take when my pet has ticks or fleas? 

We would advise you to go for a Natural Bug Repelling Massage. It helps relieve ticks and flea bites. And also helps with repelling the bugs in a natural way. 

6. How does HUFT ensure disinfection & sterilisation at their spas?

Every item used by the groomers in the spa, bathing tub and grooming table is thoroughly disinfected and sterilised before use. We take every precaution to ensure that each item is absolutely safe and sanitised for usage. 

7. What is the purpose behind using the grooming leash during grooming?

In the spa, the use of grooming leash adds another layer of safety for pets. Before a spa session, there are chances that the pet might get excited or anxious and try to jump off the table. The grooming leash secures the pet and stops them from getting hurt.

8. What are some of the regular grooming tips which a pet parent can follow at home to ease the grooming at HUFT spa?

We highly recommend daily brushing of the coat which helps in maintaining the fur and keeps it knot-free. By doing this, they get used to grooming at home and also makes them more comfortable & calm at the spa. 

9. What if I am late for my appointment?

We would advise pet parents to reach on the scheduled time. However, if they are unable to make it or are late by more than 15 minutes, we recommend rescheduling the appointment. Because the delay will affect the subsequent pets’ appointments, which can be very stressful for the pet. 

10. What time should I come to pick up my pet? 

Your pet would be eagerly waiting to see you after their grooming session. Hence, we advise pet parents to reach the store 10 minutes prior to the end of the session. This would ensure that post grooming, pets don’t have to wait for long & stay stress-free. 

11. Why is only a haircut not recommended?

At HUFT, we need to wash your pet’s coat so it sets nicely, which in turn helps us achieve a neat and even finish of the haircut. The bathing process also helps us with cleansing, detangling and conditioning of the coat. Since we have multiple pets visiting our spas on a daily basis. Bathing them keeps the hygiene aspect in check. 

12. Why do cats throw up most of the time after grooming?

Cats clean themselves by licking their fur. Due to this, there are chances of the cat swallowing their own hair. The swallowed hair can form into a hairball & cause them to throw up.

13. My pet tends to sleep longer post grooming. Why is that?

Grooming is an extensive activity for a pet, so it is natural for them to feel tired. Hence post grooming, they might sleep a little longer than usual, which is completely normal.

14. Why do pets with matted coats tend to scratch and lick themselves after a haircut?

If your pet has a matted coat, we do not recommend de-matting. If it is too close to the skin, the tugging and pulling will hurt your pet and they may end up getting a skin infection. 

Pets might get stressed due to the matts but we recommend trimming the knots as due to de-matting, they might not cooperate and make the grooming process difficult. 

15. What to do if my pet has rashes & skin redness post haircut?

If your pet has gotten their hair cut short, they would generally have rashes and redness on the skin. Due to matts, there is little or no air circulation at the skin underneath. After the haircut, the skin starts breathing and the rashes mostly would go away in a day or two.
