FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When can you give a puppy its first bath?
We recommend giving puppies their first bath anywhere between 3-6 months. Always use an extremely gentle and sulphate-free puppy shampoo with the perfect pH-balance as puppies have extremely sensitive skin, which can be damaged easily.
Do cats need baths?
A simple answer is yes. Contrary to popular belief, while cats do groom themselves, it doesn't mean they do not need frequent grooming and bathing. To protect your cat’s coat and skin from dander, dandruff and bad odour, a gentle bath is recommended.
Is human shampoo safe for dogs?
No, human shampoos are not safe for dogs. This is because dog skin and human skin have very different pH-balances, the dog skin being more sensitive. Human shampoos can harm your dog’s skin. Instead use a pet shampoo with the perfect pH-balance for soft and healthy skin and coat.
Is Bubble Up a good shampoo?
Bubble up is a range of nature-inspired pet shampoos that moisturises your pet’s skin and coat, lathers well and leaves an amazing fragrance behind. The entire range is free of parabens, silicone and alcohol. It’s also cruelty-free and vegan-friendly for all eco-conscious pet parents. This makes Bubble Up a great shampoo for your pet.
Is it good to give a dog bath in the winter?
Yes, just like us, dogs do require frequent baths, even during winters. It will help prevent matting caused by winter apparel and to keep their skin and coat from drying up. Remember to use a moisturising shampoo and warm water for your dog’s bath.
Are sulphate shampoos safe for dogs? Are all Bubble Up variants sulphate-free?
Sulphate shampoos are safe for dogs when the sulphate quantity is controlled and the shampoo is not overused. Chemically, sulphates actually help create a lather and remove dirt and oil from the coat easily. Not all Bubble Up variants contain sulphate. Both Small and Soft Puppy Shampoo as well as Purr and Pretty Cat Shampoo are sulphate-free as puppies and cats have extra sensitive skin.
Is lather good for hair?
A shampoo that lathers well easily removes any dirt and oil from your pet’s coat.
Do puppies really need puppy shampoo? Or can any dog shampoo be used?
Yes! Puppies have extremely sensitive skin and hence they require special puppy shampoo that caters to their skin’s pH-balance. Human shampoo and dog shampoos can be harsh on their skin. Hence it’s advised to only use puppy shampoos.
How do I know when my cats need a bath?
Your cat probably needs a bath if you notice greasy fur, strong odours and excessive shedding. Long-haired cats might require more frequent grooming.
Do you wash your dog using hot or cold water?
It’s always best to check the water temperature on your arm before giving your dog a bath. Luke-warm water does the trick, especially in winter.
