You cannot go a single day without making an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.

At the core of Heads Up For Tails lies a deep-rooted desire to help animals in need. We are working tirelessly to create a sustainable business that allows us to fulfil this greater purpose. This page is a very special part of the website, it has the most love. We’ve brought together all our initiatives in one place and we will do everything we can to keep this page growing in the years to come.
If you would like to contribute to any of these initiatives, do get in touch with us.
#letschoosekindness
We wanted to celebrate our 10th anniversary as a brand (in 2017) by giving back to those less fortunate. We passively adopted 10 permanent residents of three shelters and used our social media platform to highlight the work that these shelters do and the amazing souls that they help. We hoped to make more people aware of their needs and hopefully, inspire more people to donate or volunteer to work with these organisations.
We expanded this initiative to share other simple ways in which ordinary folks (like you and me) can reach out and change a life in the course of our daily lives. We continue to do this at every given opportunity. Our latest cause was to introduce people to the very immediate requirement for Canine Blood Donors.
The Santa Paws Campaign
In line with the season’s spirit of giving, we organize the ‘Santa Paws’ Donation Drive. Customers and staff alike, put donations in kind under the Christmas Tree (we have one at each store). On Christmas Eve, we donate everything under the tree to a local animal shelter. In 2017, proceeds from the Santa Paws Campaign were sent to Frendicoes in Delhi, ResQ in Pune and CARE in Bangalore.
The Water Bowl Project
A movement that has been around for years, the Water Bowl Project urges citizens to set a bowl of clean water out for strays. While it is most important in the summer season, keeping a water bowl outside your home or office throughout the year is invaluable to the dogs, cats, birds and even cows around your area.
Every year, HUFT spreads the word to raise awareness on this project. We also set water bowls outside our stores.
Monsoon Campaign
Shelters often need a helping paw during the monsoons. Donations in kind were collected by our Pune store to help the furry angels at ResQ stay safe and dry this monsoon.
Warmth in the Winter
Delhi can get bitterly cold in the winter. With our headquarters set up in the city, we experience this first-hand. We figured out an easy way that anyone could help out a shivering stray around their homes or offices. Just get a large, cardboard box and set it in a safe, dry space near home or inside your garden. Write a message on top and fill the inside with a sack/ newspapers or an old bedsheet – you can help a stray curl up and get a warm night’s sleep, protected from the cold winter wind.
Store Doggies and Cats:
We are lucky enough to have earned the protection of gorgeous Indies who live around our stores. In return, we make sure they have access to water, food and share our tea breaks with them. Some of them make sure that they visit us every day while others drop by only for brief visits. However long they choose to spend with us, their antics and joy definitely brighten up our days. Here are some of our bravehearts:
